STAR

Supporting Tenants' and Residents Associations in Hull
STAR is hosted by the Neighbourhood Training and Resource Centre and is funded by Hull City Council's Housing Service, specifically to provide support to Tenants' and Residents' Associations (TARAs) in Hull.

STAR does this in a number of ways, from helping you to access training or funding, representing your concerns to the council and other agencies, or attending your meetings and assisting with taking minutes and other administrative tasks.

STAR's other objectives include:
  • Producing a regular newsletter to keep TARAs and other interested parties informed of developments - we especially welcome articles and information from TARAs for inclusion in our newsletter.
  • Acting as a link between TARAs and the Council Housing Service and making sure that your questions get answered.
  • Supporting council tenant volunteers in carrying out an annual Tenant Inspection of the Council's Housing Service.

Most importantly, we want you to tell us how we can provide your group with the help and support you need.

The Resource Centre is now working to develop links with TARAs and other TARA support services in the Yorkshire and Humber region in order to share information and learn from one another.
