Working in Neighbourhoods

This two day course is aimed at frontline staff and volunteers working directly in communities and neighbourhoods. The course will take place over two days and attendance on both days is expected.
 
The course will look at community development and cohesion (including neighbourhood regeneration) by tackling communication and identifying problem solving strategies, as well as how to participate effectively in partnership working. The role of Local Strategic Partnerships and Local Area Agreements within neighbourhood working will also be examined.
 
 
Aim:
 
To gain an understanding of what is meant by working in neighbourhoods
 
Objectives:
 
  • Define a neighborhood
  • List skills required to work in a neighborhood
  • Discuss Sara model to use as a means to solve problems
  • Discuss benefits of community development
  • Explain how to participate in partnership working
  • To list and define Local Area Agreements and the role which the Local Strategic Partnership

8th Annual Regional Warden Conference for Yorkshire & The Humber (March 2010)
This conference was the 8th Annual Regional Warden Conference to be organised and facilitated by the Neighbourhood Training and Resource Centre. The aim of the day was to share best practice and knowledge, with key speakers and workshop facilitators from across the region.
