New Lodge & Athersley Community Liaison Wardens Win Award (Nov 2009)

New Lodge and Athersley Community Liaison Wardens have won the Best Community Safety Initiative at the Neighbourhood Management Awards 2009.
 
The wardens have bridged the ‘trust gap’ between residents and service providers. Meanwhile, activities to support young people in the area have been provided, such as the Junior Warden Scheme, anti-arson work, litter-picking, and graffiti removal. There’s also fishing and gardening clubs and a volunteer-led youth club.

8th Annual Regional Warden Conference for Yorkshire & The Humber (March 2010)
This conference was the 8th Annual Regional Warden Conference to be organised and facilitated by the Neighbourhood Training and Resource Centre. The aim of the day was to share best practice and knowledge, with key speakers and workshop facilitators from across the region. The Conference provides the opportunity for Community Wardens within Yorkshire & Humber to take away information, new contacts and hopefully helpful ideas that can assist warden schemes in providing best practice and continued partnership working.
